The Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM) proudly hosted a dynamic Business Day Camp for students from all SABIS® branches across the UAE. Designed to spark innovation and entrepreneurship, the event brought together over 100 high school students for an engaging, hands-on business simulation.
The session was led by Dr. Valerie Lindsay, Acting Dean of ADSM, with the support of Ms. Shannaiah Inocencio, who helped facilitate the day’s activities and guided student engagement. The highlight of the day was the “Coffee Shop” simulation developed by Sims Institute, a Dubai-based Ed-Tech company. Students worked in teams to create and manage their own virtual coffee shops, making strategic decisions involving startup operations, branding, marketing, and financial planning.
In attendance was Dr. Mahima Mishra, who observed the event and engaged with students throughout the camp. The judging panel featured ADSM MBA students Khaled Almaqrami and Alyaa Alhefeit as special guests, along with Dr. Constance Van Horne. The panel assessed teams based on business performance, creativity, and quality of presentations.
Students impressed the judges with their creativity, teamwork, and business insight. Two winning teams were recognized—one for generating the highest revenue and another for delivering the most compelling business pitch and visual presentation.
Dr. Valerie Lindsay commended the participants, stating, “This event was a true demonstration of young entrepreneurial spirit. The students were all incredibly competitive, focused, and determined to show their best work. The creativity and collaboration on display were exceptional, and it’s exciting to see the promise these students hold for the future.”
A heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible ADSM student volunteers—Malak Alwaara, Omar Najjar, Lama Hassan, Ahmad Obeidat, and Saeed Alhosani—as well as our intern Dareen Kaddoura, for their outstanding commitment and support throughout the event. We also extend our sincere appreciation to all ADSM faculty and staff who contributed to the successful execution of the camp.
This initiative reflects ADSM’s continued commitment to experiential learning and youth development. By collaborating with schools and providing real-world simulations, ADSM empowers the next generation with practical business skills and the confidence to lead in tomorrow’s evolving marketplace.
