Dr. Marc Poulin

Dr. Marc Poulin

Dr. Poulin is Acting President, Associate Professor of Operations Management at Abu Dhabi School of Management. He was previously Acting Dean at the Canadian University Dubai from 2018 to 2019, MBA Director in 2016, and Assistant professor since 2014. He was Assistant professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management at Zayed University from 2010 to 2013. Prior to arriving to the UAE in 2010, Dr. Poulin was a Management Consultant for West Monroe Partners Consultancy from Chicago and he had his own private consultancy in Quebec specialized in Mass Customization. Dr. Poulin has a PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management from University Laval in Canada. His thesis focused on the optimization of supply chains in a context of personalized offers. At University Laval, he was highly involved in the CENTOR research center, which spread between Quebec, Montreal, France and Switzerland. His research and teaching interest includes: operations management, supply chain management, business strategy, entrepreneurship, and mass customization. He has over thirty scientific publications in international journals and conferences. Dr. Poulin has also consulted companies in the UAE, Canada, and Europe regarding management strategy, operations and supply chain strategy, and financing. He has a special interest in start-up companies.

Prof. Marc Aoudi

Prof. Marc Aoudi

Dr. Marc Aoudi is a Professor of Management and Economics at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. He holds a PhD in 2011 from the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. Dr. Aoudi has over two decades of experience in the field of higher education. In 2021, he achieved recognition as one of the 100 most active members at AACSB, a testament to his commitment to academic excellence. Additionally, his academic prowess has been acknowledged on a global scale. After graduating with his PhD, Dr. Aoudi spent five years at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne teaching and conducting research. He continues to contribute as an associate researcher specializing in International Economics and financial studies, particularly focusing on Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) and Clusters. Dr. Aoudi has held many academic and administrative positions in France, Lebanon and Belgium. His dedication to the academic community is further reflected in his roles as an editorial board member and head manager in France at the IABE (International Academy of Business and Economics) and as a senior board of director member and general manager (France) of IBERA (International Business Education and Research Association). His leadership extends to administrative positions, including provost/director of academic affairs and vice president, held in both French and Belgian institutions. Dr. Aoudi's is committed to the pursuit of knowledge and the advancement of higher education with teaching, learning, and research at their core. His contributions as a scholar, educator, and administrator continue to evolve and develop.

Prof. Valerie Lindsay

Prof. Valerie Lindsay

Professor Valerie Lindsay earned her PhD in International Strategy (thesis title: A Strategic View of Export Performance: A New Zealand Perspective) from the University of Warwick, UK. Prior to this, she obtained an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Otago, New Zealand, and an MBA from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Dr Lindsay moved to the UAE in 2012, and has held appointments as Professor, Head of School, Dean of Business, and Associate Dean (Graduate Programs). She has held several academic positions at the University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, as well as at the University of Warwick in the UK. Professor Lindsay's research interests lie in the areas of international strategy, strategic management and entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on SMEs, and business in Asia. More recently, Professor Lindsay has engaged in UAE-based research in areas, such as Emiritization, multiculturalism, and women in leadership. Her work has been published in leading journals, including Management International Review, Organizational Dynamics, Industrial Marketing Management, and Journal of World Business. Professor Lindsay’s current areas of teaching include Strategic Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership. She has many years’ experience teaching at the undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral levels, as well as supervision of Masters and Doctoral theses. Before joining academia, Professor Lindsay was a research scientist in immunology and biochemistry, and then moved to the area of business. Among various roles in the latter, she was the New Zealand Marketing Manager for ICI Pharmaceuticals. Dr Lindsay also worked in two New Zealand government departments in the areas of trade and tertiary education. She has consulted widely in strategy and international business in industry and in government over many years.

Prof. Miroslav Mateev

Prof. Miroslav Mateev

Dr. Miroslav Mateev is a Professor and Director of Research at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. From January 2017 to December 2019 he was Vice President for Research and Advancement at the American University in the Emirates, Dubai. Before coming to UAE, Dr. Mateev was a Visiting Professor in Finance at the University of Maine Business School, USA. Dr. Mateev holds two doctoral degrees – Ph.D. in Industrial Management from Technical University, Sofia and Doctor of Economic Sciences in Finance, from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia. He specialized at the Harvard Business School where his focus was on case writing and case teaching as part of his teaching methodology. His research interests are in the areas of corporate finance, international financial management, M&A restructuring, bank risk management and Islamic finance. With more than 100 publications in well-recognized international journals, five books and many research conferences, Dr. Mateev remains a strong advocate of finance, accounting, and strategic management. His current area of teaching covers corporate finance, strategic management, research method of business and managerial accounting. Currently, the number of Google Scholar citations account to 835, of which 120 are Scopus indexed. His publications are mainly SJR Q1 and Q2 ranked journals. Besides teaching, Dr. Mateev is actively engaged in consulting in the areas of foreign investment, corporate restructuring, project management and SME development.

Dr. Tarek Nasr

Dr. Tarek Nasr

Dr. Tarek Nasr obtained his Ph.D. in Finance from Paris Dauphine University after having completed his Diploma in Advanced Studies, a postgraduate degree in Management from the same university. Prior to this, he obtained his Master’s degree in international business law and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cairo University, Egypt. He is engaged in the risk management, insurance and reinsurance industry since he obtained his Ph.D. as he was heading during 11 years key operational and management areas at international insurance brokers and insurers. Risk management in emerging financial markets is his main area of research. His teaching interests are essentially Risk Management & Insurance, Financial markets and Corporate Finance, this is in addition to being the head of different academic and non-academic committees at universities.

Dr. Ahmad Jaffar

Dr. Ahmad Jaffar

Dr. Ahmad Jaffar is an Associate Professor of Innovation at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. With 18 years of teaching in innovation management, he served as Program Chair for 5 years and taught in different universities in United Arab Emirates and University of Wales, College Newport, UK. Dr. Jaffar was awarded scholarships for his PhD and MSc. He received the Education Leadership Award by World Education Congress and Best Oral Presentation in International Conference Business Education, Engineering & Science for his research on commuters’ behavior. Dr. Jaffar key areas of research expertise include business process modeling, cognitive psychology in human interpretation of representation, and human-computer interaction, specifically in implied symbolic representation. His current focus optimizes positive psychology and predictive analytics to influence individual behavior in crowded environment. His most recent collaborative publication is a research initiative with a Middle East Transportation Authority to solicit commuter’s behavior using train services.

Prof. Ishtiaq Rasool Khan

Dr. Ishtiaq Rasool Khan is a Professor of Business Analytics at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. With a extensive experience spanning across multiple countries, Dr. Khan has previously held positions at institutions such as the University of Jeddah and King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, the Institute for Infocomm Research at A*STAR in Singapore, and both Kyushu Institute of Technology and the University of Kitakyushu in Japan. He has numerous R&D partnerships with industry leaders across Japan, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. A prolific researcher, Dr. Khan has over 120 publications in international journals and conference proceedings. His dedication to research has garnered him several competitive grants, with one notable project culminating in the launch of a successful spin-off company in Singapore. Dr. Khan's contributions to academia and research has been widely recognized. He has been honored with several accolades, including the Young Investigator Award from the Acoustical Society of America, the I2R Best Project Award, and the coveted JSPS postdoctoral fellowship. Furthermore, his team's groundbreaking work in mixed reality home entertainment was recognized as a finalist at the World Technology Summit and Awards in 2010. Dr. Rasool is passionate about education and believes in an interactive teaching approach. He ensures that students actively participate in discussions and often include them into his research projects. This hands-on experience allows them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, enriching their understanding and preparing them for future challenges in the field.

Dr. Constance Van Horne

Dr. Constance Van Horne is an Associate Professor of Management at Abu Dhabi School of Management since September 2023. Dr. Connie holds an MBA and PhD in management from Laval University in Quebec City, Canada. In 2009 she started teaching management, communications, and strategy at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. She was the UAE country team leader for the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Report from 2011-2013, co-writing the first book on Emirati Entrepreneurship. In 2015 she also co-developed the Summer@INSEAD mini-MBA for high achieving senior high school students held each year in Paris, France. In August 2018 she began five years at Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Shantou, China where she taught communications, writing and management. A passionate and student focused educator, Dr. Connie has won numerous awards for her teaching. In 2020 she was awarded the 2020 Teaching Reform Project from the Guangdong Provincial Government. Dr. Connie has published over 50 peer reviewed articles and conference proceedings in innovation management, entrepreneurship and collaborates with researchers across diverse disciplines and around the globe including China, France, Malaysia, the UAE and Canada.

Dr. Golam Mostafa Khan

Dr. Golam Mostafa Khan

Dr. Golam Mostafa Khan is an Associate Professor of Management at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Management and Administration from University of Bradford, UK. Dr. Khan also completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Bradford. Dr. Khan has fulltime teaching experience for over 33 years. He gained teaching and research experience in several international universities including University of Bahrain, University of Brunei Darussalam, United Arab Emirates University, and Sultan Qaboos University. Dr. Khan has served as an Assistant Dean of Postgraduate Studies as well as Head of Department in some of the above universities. In terms of research and teaching, primary focus is in areas of strategic management, entrepreneurship, family business and international business. Dr. Khan has over 80 publications in numerous reputable journals, books and conferences. His current focus is in developing case studies based on companies in the GCC region in order to prepare relevant teaching material that are related to current and emerging themes in management and entrepreneurship. Dr. Khan has been a keynote speaker in multiple international conferences and has received numerous accolades in teaching and contribution in leadership to academic programs. His has published in reputed journals and has been a reviewer of papers for Thunderbird International Business Review, Emerald Emerging Market Cases Studies, The Case Focus, and Asian Case Research Journal.

Dr. Mahima Mishra

Dr. Mahima Mishra is an Associate Professor at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. She was previously at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management of Pune (SIBM) from 2011 to 2022, one of India’s top ranked Business schools, where she managed their flagship MBA program. She has over eighteen years of academic experience in teaching, research, and corporate training. Dr. Mishra holds a Doctorate in Management from Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth University in India. Dr. Mishra conducted trainings to over thirty companies including John Deere, IBM, Amdocs, McDonalds, Wipro, Credit Suisse, L&T, Godrej Industries, Hindustan Petroleum, TACO etc. She published two cases with IVEY and marketed by Harvard Business School Publishing. She has over twenty-five publications with over fifty citations in international journals. Dr. Neda Abdelhamid

Dr Neda Abdelhamid is an Associate Professor at the Abu Dhabi School of Management under the Business Analytics master program. She holds a PhD in Computer Science – Data Mining from De Montfort University, Leicester, UK. She was previously awarded her BEng degree in Software Engineering from the University of Bradford, UK. Dr Neda has over 7 years of teaching experience with both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the UAE and New Zealand. She has worked closely with industry leaders in New Zealand resulting in over 100 placements for the students. Dr Neda has a passion for Data Mining, Business Intelligence Analytics. She commonly employs secondary data analysis and the application of Machine Learning algorithms to derive and evaluate models that could contribute to the Information Science field. In 2017 she won the Best Paper award at CITRENZ for the article “intelligently derived features that influence students’ perceptions on e-textbooks”. Her research interests include data analytics and machine learning with over 20 publications and over 700 citations in reputable international journals and conferences.

Dr. Evi Indriasari Mansor

Dr. Evi Indriasari Mansor is an Associate Professor at the Abu Dhabi School of Management under the Business Analytics master program. She holds a PhD in Informatics from Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester, UK. She was previously awarded her MSc. degree in Multimedia Application & Virtual Environments (with Distinction) from the University of Sussex, UK, and a BSc. in IT from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Malaysia. Dr. Evi has 10 years of teaching experience with both undergraduate and postgraduate students and an extensive background in supervising Master and PhD research work. She was the founder and head of the HCI Research Groups at Universiti Putra Malaysia and Prince Sultan University, KSA. She also has several years of experience working in the IT industry. Her work is interdisciplinary, combining research areas from Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Education, E-Commerce, Managing Technology & Innovation, Healthcare, Gamification, and Multimodal Interactive Technologies. Her research interests are in data visualisation, personalised learning, learning analytics, user experience, mobile application development, chatbots, augmented reality, virtual reality, holographic applications, robots, tangible/wearable devices, and qualitative analysis.

Dr. Razan Al-Masri

Dr. Razan Al-Masri is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. She earned a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management from Université Le Havre, France. Further enhancing her academic journey, Dr. Al-Masri held pivotal roles as an Associate International Researcher and International Program Coordinator at the European School of Administration Management Finance and Law in Paris. These roles endowed her with a deep understanding of educational methodologies, assessment techniques, and curriculum development. Her research focuses on the area of supply chain management, leadership and consumer behavior. For Dr. Al-Masri, teaching and learning transcends the confines of the course syllabus. She passionately believes in engaging her students to recognize their potential, address challenges, and shape a defined path for their careers. Dr. Turki Fahed Al Masaeid

Dr. Turki Fahed Al Masaeid

Dr. Turki Fahed Al Masaeid graduated from Yarmouk University with a Ph.D. in Education. He has consulted for several local and international organizations in the fields of Education and evaluation. In addition to that, he worked for several years in academia, including Ajman University, Canadian University in Dubai, Aldar university college, and the University of Sharjah. Before joining ADSM, Turki worked for six years at the Ministry of Education as a senior curriculum specialist. Before that, Turki managed for nine years in monitoring and evaluation of the programs of the academic and career counseling department at the Ministry of Education in Dubai. As well as, Turki worked as a training consultant for many institutions, such as the Canadian University in Dubai and the Ministry of Education.

Dr. Divya Upadhyay

Dr. Divya Upadhyay

Dr. Divya Upadhyay is an Assistant Professor of management at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. Dr. Divya has over 5 years of teaching experience with both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the UAE. She has completed her doctorate in the Conflict Management area and one of the essays from her dissertation work received a best paper award (Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict, and Complexity (AC4) scholarship by Columbia University, Earth Institute) in International Association of Conflict Management Conference. Her research papers have been published in International Journal of Conflict Management (ABDC, A Category journal) and IIMB Management Review (ABDC, B Category). During the course of her teaching stints, she has taught courses such as Organizational Behavior, Managerial Leadership, Human Resource Management and, Talent Management. Her research interest lies in exploring psychological processes in explaining human behavior in organizational context with over 20 publications and over 60 citations in reputable international journals and conferences. In last few years, she has been working on having deeper research of the psychological processes involved in cooperative and competitive behaviors. Recently, she has worked on a research project that examined the motivational factors that lead choices of teaching career among expatriate teachers in the UAE.

Dr. Zainab Rawshdeh is an Assistant Professor at the Abu Dhabi School of Management. Before joining our institution, she held a prominent position at the College of Business Administration, Prince Sultan University, a premier institution in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Zainab’s academic prowess is evident through her Ph.D. in Business Administration, with a specialization in Human Resources Management, from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Notably, UKM is an AACSB accredited Graduate School of Business, standing tall at #129 in the QS World University Ranking. Her dedication to research is evident in the numerous papers she has published in Scopus-indexed journals. Dr. Zainab is has a unique lecturing style, skillfully breaking down intricate concepts to foster active learning among both undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Mohamed AKOUM, an Assistant Professor of Quality & Business Excellence at Abu Dhabi School of Management since 2020, boasts a decade-long career in International Management and Technology Consultancy, initially in Montreal and later in the UAE's Petroleum and Consultancy sectors. Notably a CIO and Vice President, he's advised global leaders like Oracle and Gartner, also guiding UAE educational institutions. Awards include Best CIO in MENA by IDC, SAP Quality Award, and Oracle Oil & Gas Industry Award. Dr. Lakshmi Radhakrishnan

Dr. Lakshmi C Radhakrishnan serves as an Assistant Professor at the Abu Dhabi School of Management within the Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Development (MSLOD) program. Holding a PhD in Management with a specialization in HRM from MS University, India, she brings extensive academic prowess to her role. Notably, Dr. Lakshmi is a certified Specialist in Higher Education Pedagogy, having completed her certification from Harvard University's Derek Bok Center for Teaching & Learning. With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Lakshmi has nurtured both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the UAE. Her previous leadership acumen extends to her role as Dean of Academic Program Accreditation, where she collaborates closely with industry and Ministry of Education (MOE) specialists. Dr. Lakshmi is a Certified Professional Life Coach licensed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF-USA), reflecting her commitment to holistic student development. In her classroom sessions, Dr. Lakshmi frequently utilizes storytelling and experiential learning models, fostering an engaging and dynamic learning environment. She is deeply passionate about implementing Deeper Learning Heuristics and crafting Creative Learning Techniques to cater to diverse learning styles, thus ensuring an inclusive and immersive educational experience. Additionally, she is actively engaged in research, with a focus on the application of AI-driven and coaching-based leadership in forward-thinking organizations, thus contributing to the advancement of knowledge in her field.

Dr. Davide La Torre

Davide La Torre is an applied mathematician and an expert in artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling. Currently, he holds the position of Full Professor of Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at SKEMA Business School, Sophia Antipolis Campus, France. Additionally, he is affiliated with various universities and research institutions worldwide. With over 25 years of academic experience, Dr. Davide has held permanent and visiting professor positions in Europe, Canada, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Australia. He has also served in administrative roles such as Associate Dean, Departmental Chair, and Program Head at several universities. Dr. Davide earned his HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in Applied Mathematics from the Université Côte d'Azur (France) and his Doctorate in Computational Mathematics and Operations Research from the University of Milan (Italy). Furthermore, he possesses professional certificates in Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). He has authored or co-authored over 220 publications indexed in Scopus, with many appearing in high-impact factor journals covering a wide range of disciplines, including Artificial Intelligence, Business, and Engineering.

Dr. Francesco Appio

Francesco Paolo Appio is a Full Professor of Innovation at the Paris School of Business in Paris, France. He earned his Ph.D. in Management from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Italy. Professor Appio serves as a member of the Scientific Committee at the Abu Dhabi AI Management Institute (ADSM) and is a member of both the PDMA and IEEE associations. Recently, he has been also appointed as Affiliate Professor for the Interdisciplinary Center on Sustainability and Climate at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, Italy. As visiting researcher, he had the opportunity to visit prestigious international academic institutions, including Bocconi University in Italy, MIT Sloan School of Management in the USA, K.U. Leuven in Belgium, and Ritsumeikan APU in Japan. His interdisciplinary research primarily focuses on the impact of digital transformation on innovation at various levels—ecosystems, cities, organizations, and teams—considering diverse perspectives such as sustainability, socio-technical systems, technological change, and innovation capabilities. He is also interested in exploring the relationships between science fiction and innovation, as well as the role of errors and failures in stimulating scientific breakthroughs. He serves as an Associate Editor for the journals Technological Forecasting and Social Change and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and is a member of the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Product Innovation Management. His work has been featured in numerous respected publications including Organization Studies, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Information Systems Journal, Long Range Planning, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Journal of Production Research, and Industrial Marketing Management. Additionally, he is a guest editor for multiple special issues in journals like Journal of Product Innovation Management, Organization Studies, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and Journal of Urban Technology. Finally, he co-edited a Routledge handbook on the ‘Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Business and Society: Opportunities and Challenges’ as well as a book on a technological innovation namely, Cubesats.

Dr. Raja Jayaraman

Dr. Raja Jayaraman

Raja Jayaraman is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, USA. Dr. Jayaraman’s current research interests focus on a multidisciplinary approach to engineering problems applying systems engineering, process optimization, operational excellence, and digital transformation to characterize, model, and solve complex systems. His research targets applications in supply chains, multi-modal logistics, maintenance planning, and healthcare delivery. Dr. Jayaraman has over 16 years of experience in higher education institutions spanning India, the USA, and the UAE. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in supply chain and logistics, optimization, stochastic models, systems engineering, and quality management. With over 130 journal publications in the domains of engineering, technology, and business his research contributions have appeared in top-tier journals including Annals of Operations Research, IISE Transactions, Computers & Industrial Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, IEEE Engineering Management Review, Production Planning & Control, Energy Policy, Technology in Society, Knowledge-Based Systems, Expert Systems with Applications, Journal of Cleaner Production, Technology Forecasting and Social Change, Engineering Management Journal, and others. Dr. Jayaraman was recognized in 2022 and 2023 as Stanford University World’s Top 2% scientists and most influential researcher under the subject categories: Operations Research, Artificial Intelligence, and Information and Communication Technologies. Dr. Jayaraman is a senior member of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineering (IISE) and a member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (Informs). He currently serves as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Quality and Reliability and an editorial board member of several journals.

Dr. CInzia Colapinto

Dr. Cinzia Colapinto, Ph.D. in Business and Corporate Finance. (University of Milan, Italy) She is Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at IPAG Business school (France) and the Department of Management, Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Italy). Her research interests focus on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Strategy. In particular, she is interested in the role played by digital technologies on business model transformations and on their impact on the achievement of sustainable development goals by SMEs. She coordinated several national and European funded projects including Re:gen-u and UCAMP (Erasmus+ projects). Her main publications are in R&D Management, Management International Review, Management Decision, European Journal of Operational Research, Energy Policy, Annals of Operations Research. She is the author of several monographs, including Adaptive Decision Making and Intellectual Styles (Springer). She spent several periods as Visiting Researcher/Professor including: Fuqua Business School/Duke University (USA), London School of Economics and Political Science (United Kingdom), Queensland University of Technology (Australia), SKEMA Business School (France) and at Abu Dhabi School of Management (UAE).

A Data Scientist with over six years of experience in data science, academic research, and teaching. Dr. Marco Repetto holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Statistics from the University of Milano-Bicocca, where his research focused on Explainable Artificial Intelligence in high-risk applications using Deep Learning in credit risk assessment. Marco’s collaborative efforts with ZHAW on a InnoSuisse project have been pivotal in developing a comprehensive AI certification schema to enhance standards and practices within the AI industry.
