SLE Showcase (Spring 2023 Cohort)

The Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM) recently hosted its highly anticipated Signature Learning Experience (SLE) event, where students from the Spring 2023 MBA Cohort showcased a series of groundbreaking entrepreneurial projects. The SLE, a cornerstone of ADSM’s MBA Program, is designed to foster an entrepreneurial mindset by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, equipping students to address real-world challenges with innovative solutions.

The event featured a diverse array of projects developed over three semesters, reflecting the students’ dedication and creativity. These projects were evaluated by esteemed judges, Mr. Sreedhar Bevara, a motivational speaker, author, and entrepreneur, and Mr. Rakesh M. Bohra, a seasoned entrepreneur and angel investor. Both judges brought a wealth of experience and insight, providing critical feedback that underscored the projects’ potential impact.

Spotlight on Innovation

Among the standout projects was Dakhtoor, a mobile and web application designed by Abdulaziz Saeed Alzaabi, Ahmed Abdulrahman Alremeithi, Ali Saeed Alzaabi, Albanoot Mohamed Almansoori, and Izzeddeen Mohamed Alhebsi to combat medication waste and improve access to affordable healthcare. This innovative platform enables users to share excess medications within their community, thereby reducing waste and ensuring essential medicines reach those in need. The project not only addresses an important social issue but also exemplifies sustainable, community-driven innovation.

Exotic Landscaping, developed by Aysha Mohamed Almujaini, Rashed Saeed Aldhaheri, Wadima Dhafer Al Ahbabi, and Ahmed Mohammed Alharthi, introduced a comprehensive digital marketplace for landscaping services and products in the UAE. The platform aims to revolutionize the gardening experience by connecting customers with a wide range of products and professional services, all from the convenience of a single online platform. This project highlights the growing trend of digital solutions simplifying traditionally complex processes.

In the realm of sustainability, Carbon Capture by Carbon Solutions LLC, represented by Saif Khalfan Alkindi, Mohamed Salem Alkatheeri, Rashed Omar Alkatheeri, and Ahmed Saif Almheiri, offered a forward-thinking approach to addressing global carbon emissions. The project proposes the use of cutting-edge carbon capture technology, supported by a robust business model that includes carbon credits and sustainable usage solutions. This initiative is particularly relevant as businesses worldwide seek to reduce their environmental footprint.

The SLE event also featured Fateel, a project offering an eco-friendly fire-starter alternative made from palm tree waste. Created by Shaikha Yousef Alhammadi, Munia Yousef Alharthi, Sabah Mubarak Binamro, and Nahida Farhan Alhammadi, these Palm Fiber Firelighter Cubes provide a smokeless, odorless, and safer option for lighting fires, promoting sustainability by utilizing locally sourced materials. This product is poised to appeal to both environmentally conscious consumers and the broader market of camping and barbeque enthusiasts.

Lastly, ExportEase UAE, developed by Nasser Salem Alshamsi, Saleh Fawzi Alameri, Rashed Khamis Aldhaheri, and Shamsa Salem Aljaberi, aimed to transform the cross-border trade landscape for UAE businesses. The platform simplifies international procurement by offering streamlined processes, secure transactions, and valuable market insights, positioning UAE businesses to better compete on the global stage.
