In collaboration with Etihad Rail, ADSM organized a lecture on “Rail Development in the UAE”. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Ahmed Almusawa, Executive Director and Mr. John Arthur, Transport Expert at Etihad Rail. Students from all ADSM programs, along with faculty and staff attended the event and participated in the following discussions.
Mr. Almusawa emphasized the importance of the UAE national railway network in supporting the UAE Strategic Objectives in line with Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and UAE Vision 2021.
The 1,200 km railway network is being built in stages to link the principal centers of population and industry of the UAE, as well as to form a vital part of the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) railway network. This is recognized to be one of the most important economic and development projects in the UAE’s history. Mr. Almusawa also gave an overview on Etihad Rail’s vision to provide a fast and sustainable transport network in line with the highest standards of efficiency and safety. He elaborated that on the completion of this project, the network will radically change the ways of transporting passengers and goods, in preparation for a new era of transportation in the UAE and for more prosperity and growth.
