Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM) had the honor of participating in the 11th PRME Chapter Middle East Regional Forum: Advancing Sustainability Literacy, held on December 5, 2024, at Zayed University. This significant forum brought together universities and business schools to promote sustainability literacy in the Middle East and align efforts with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As an active organizer, ADSM demonstrated its leadership in sustainability education by chairing Session 3: Student Projects and Initiatives on Sustainability. The session was led by Prof. Dr. Miroslav Mateev, Director of Research and PRME Coordinator at ADSM, and featured insights into impactful student-driven sustainability projects. Two of the panelists, Cynthia Haddad and Ahmed Obeidat, ADSM undergraduate students, presented their initiatives under the guidance of Ms. Shannaiah, Student Support and Counselling for Undergraduate Program.

This session showcased how students apply their knowledge and skills to address pressing sustainability challenges in the region. It emphasized the importance of integrating PRME principles and SDGs into academic activities, research, and student engagement through projects like Sustainability Action Plans, Global Citizenship activities, and Sustainability Challenges.

ADSM’s participation extended to the poster session, where projects by members of the ADSM Sustainability Club, focusing on sustainability and climate change in the local context, received positive feedback from the jury for their relevance and impact.

ADSM remains committed to advancing sustainability literacy through education, research, and community initiatives, empowering students to drive meaningful change in the Middle East and beyond.
