ADSM Director of Research, Dr. Miroslav I. Mateev, Attends Prestigious Conference in Singapore

Global Gathering on Sustainable Finance Dr. Miroslav I. Mateev, Director of Research at the Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM), attended the 2024 Impact and Sustainable Finance Faculty Consortium in Singapore. Hosted by Singapore Management University with the support of the Sustainable Green Finance Center (SGFC) and the Ford Foundation, the event brought together over 100 global faculty consortium members and industry experts. The primary aim was to exchange ideas in a different cultural context, foster connections with a diverse international audience, and establish new partnerships in this dynamic region.

Engaging Breakout Sessions During the event, Dr. Mateev participated in two key breakout sessions. The first session, titled “Going Deep into the Research and Its Implications,” was moderated by Lilian Ng. The second session, “Teaching Cases in Sustainable Finance: A Review of the Field and Case Use in the Classroom,” was moderated by Jaap Bos and Megan Kashner. In these sessions, Dr. Mateev shared best practices from ADSM related to sustainability and the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also proposed introducing a sustainable finance/green finance course into ADSM’s curriculum.

Fostering Global Collaboration Dr. Mateev described the meeting as an invaluable experience, providing a platform to learn, share, and collaborate with peers and industry leaders committed to advancing sustainable finance globally. The event highlighted the importance of such gatherings in driving the global sustainable finance agenda forward and underscored ADSM’s commitment to incorporating sustainability into its educational offerings.
