The Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM) proudly celebrates a significant academic achievement with the recent publication of a book chapter co-authored by Dr. Marc Poulin, Acting President of ADSM, and Professor Naveed Yasin, Director of the Abu Dhabi Management Incubator (ADMI).
Titled “Developing a Nation of Entrepreneurs: The Integral Role of Immigrant Entrepreneurship for the United Arab Emirates Vision 2030”, the chapter appears in the newly published academic volume Immigrant Entrepreneurship, Religion, and Ethnicity: Cases from Europe, Africa, and Asia (2025), released by Routledge—one of the world’s most prestigious academic publishers.
This timely chapter presents key interventions aligned with UAE Vision 2030, with a particular focus on increasing the number of immigrant-founded business start-ups across the country. Drawing from a detailed analysis of secondary data collected between June and October 2023—from official UAE sources, market research reports, and relevant academic literature—the chapter explores how immigrant entrepreneurship serves as a powerful catalyst for sustainable economic growth.
The research is thematically structured around four critical dimensions that shape immigrant entrepreneurship in the UAE:
- Entrepreneurship policies and SMEs
- The broader entrepreneurship ecosystem
- Immigrant entrepreneurship enclaves
- Female migrant entrepreneurship
Together, these dimensions offer valuable insights into the vibrancy and resilience of immigrant-founded enterprises in a diverse and dynamic economic environment. The study also highlights the UAE’s proactive efforts in developing policies and support systems that foster multiculturalism, tolerance, and inclusion—positioning entrepreneurship as a core driver of national prosperity.
This scholarly contribution underscores ADSM’s commitment to producing impactful, policy-relevant research that supports both academic advancement and the UAE’s national development agenda. Through initiatives such as the Abu Dhabi Management Incubator, ADSM continues to foster innovation, support start-up ecosystems, and promote inclusive participation in the economy for all.
