As part of the History and Culture of the Arab World course (GED100), ADSM BScM students, led by Dr. Turki Al Masaeid, recently visited the Abrahamic Family House. This visit was thoughtfully organized to deepen students’ appreciation for the complexity and richness of Arab culture and society while expanding their understanding of the cultural and historical context that shapes the experiences of Arab people today.
A core objective of the course is to foster a nuanced understanding of Abrahamic religions and their significant impact on Arab culture. This trip provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the values of cultural tolerance and strengthen intercultural relationships. By visiting the Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque, St. Francis Church, and Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue, students engaged with different faith practices within a unified space dedicated to peace and mutual respect.
This immersive experience not only enriched students’ knowledge of Abrahamic religions and their impact on Arab culture but also reinforced values of global tolerance, peace, and humanitarian principles. It provided invaluable insights for students pursuing careers in multicultural and international settings, aligning with ADSM’s mission to equip students with both cultural awareness and practical knowledge that extends beyond the classroom.
ADSM remains dedicated to offering holistic educational experiences, allowing students to engage with diverse perspectives and learn through real-world interactions that enhance their academic and professional development.
