The winter school is an eight-day program open to students of business administration, economics, or related subjects at Master’s level. During an intensive and enriching case-teaching week, the students get to know the drivers of competitiveness and economic success on different levels. They will be prepared for a leading role in business or society and learn to recognize the multiple influencing factors on strategic decisions and to optimally value them for strategy development.

The course will take place in Davos, Switzerland. According to different reports, Switzerland has been the most competitive and innovative country in the world for several years. Davos is the home of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, convening every year in January hundreds of global leaders on exactly these topics. The local environment does not only constitute the background for the course, but excursions and meetings with practitioners will provide unique insights into the place. Last but not least, Davos is also one of the best places for skiing on the world, with five winter sports areas and 80 different slopes of 269 km total length. The course schedule makes it possible to combine learning with skiing or other winter outdoor activities.

In this course students will get to know a frame of reference that will help them to identify the factors of competitiveness and to evaluate these factors in the light of international relationships. This will help them to better understand the many subtleties that can influence the economic success of a country, a region or a company.
