Red Crescent: Humanity in Giving

Session by Mohammed Khamis Alkaabi, Head of Disaster Response Section at Emirates Red Crescent (ERC). He will discuss the role Emirates Red Crescent plays as the UAE’s main humanitarian entity and their operations based on UAE governmental directives. ERC’s role involved preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies as per the international humanitarian principles.

UAE Innovation month: Innovation in Industry 4.0

In line with the celebration of UAE Innovation month, a session is organized in collaboration with Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA). The webinar to discuss the opportunities presented by Industry 4.0 and to provide insight from the UAE’s largest industrial company outside of oil and gas. EGA has developed its own aluminium smelting technology in the UAE for more than 25 years and intends to act as technology pathfinder for the industry.

In collaboration with Bareen International Hospital, Medical team from hospital to come to ADSM’s campus to raise awareness on the importance of hypertension and its serious medical complications. Free screening for Diabetes and Blood Pressure to be provided.

Laughter Yoga Session in collaboration with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.Laughter Yoga is a unique and fun-filled exercise that combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing techniques. This practice has numerous health benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, increasing endorphin levels, boosting the immune system, and improving overall well-being.

Session to be by Specialist – Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Nemah Jameel. She will talk about the types of Breast Cancer, symptoms, ways of early detection, prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme Experts to talk about the different volunteering opportunities with the United Nations worldwide (online and onsite assignments). Session to cover advantages of volunteering, necessary skills needed for volunteering, ways to enhance chances of securing volunteering assignments and the registration process to volunteer with UN.

Training session during research methods class by Dr. Nisa Vinodkumar, Climate Change Task Force Leader-Middle East Region of PRME Chapter. The main areas to be covered in the session to include Application of tools for student research, Application of simulation tool- Enroad simulator and Activities by students to reduce carbon footprint.

Session by Dr. Constance Van Horne, Associate Professor of Management at ADSM. Workshop designed to equip students with the necessary skills and techniques to become better public speakers in various circumstances. NMC Hospital, Bareen International to bring to campus a Body Composition Analyzer to show accurate measurements of a person’s body fat, water, lean mass and overall weight. In addition, Free health check-up for Diabetes and Cholesterol to be provided to students, faculty and staff.

Academic Support Session: Emotional Intelligence for Managers

Session by Dr. Divya Upadhyay,  Assistant Professor of Management at ADSM. Workshop to help students improve their emotional intelligence, mindfulness compassion and to reverse the damage caused by chronic stress. This comprehensive, interactive and highly experiential workshop aims to provide students with skills and competencies to raise their emotional quotient, thus achieving a marked performance improvement.
