The Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM), in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Youth Council, launched the inaugural ‘Expert’ workshop series. The workshop series aims at giving an insight to future business leaders on key success factors to help them gain a competitive advantage. The topics covered during the session were Analytics in Business, Leadership and Organizational Development, and innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Professor Abdullah El-Kwafi Abonamah, President and Provost of ADSM, in his opening speech, reflected on the visionary wisdom of the UAE leadership and key milestones achievements of the UAE. He also highlighted the key role of entrepreneurship in driving economic development in an era characterized by an exponential growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME).
Prof. Abdullah, with the participation of faculty member Dr. Samar Shilbayeh, then explored the critical need for a greater reliance on Business Analytics in the quest for better performance and productivity optimization. Moreover, as the 4th Industrial Revolution marches on, more companies will embark on a digital transformation journey with business analytics and data science being two key elements.
Professor Damien Riviez, Academic Dean of ADSM delivered a workshop on Leadership and Organizational Development. The workshop focused on the effective role leaders play to drive change through design, implementation and follow-up. In his lecture on innovation and entrepreneurship, Dr. Daniel Kratoshvil, Associate Professor and Director of Strategic Initiatives discussed the transformational methodology of turning ideas into successful and profitable projects. He pointed out that innovation is not necessarily restricted to technology but also to practices and procedures.
At the end of the workshop, the participants expressed their appreciation of the high content value and their interests in further educational engagement the Abu Dhabi School of Management.
