The strongest part of the solution was its integration. RePlay linked reusable packaging with digital tracking, logistics, washing infrastructure and consumer participation.¹ This allowed the trial to examine the complete return system rather than isolate the pack from the activities that make reuse possible.

The weaker part was the assumption that participation would become automatic. The trial identified consumer behavior as the primary barrier, despite return rates reaching approximately eighty percent.¹ The practical response is to treat the return journey as a designed service, while keeping the commercial model under review. RePlay’s value consequently lies in the insights it generated for future reuse systems, beyond the awards.¹
