New ADSM Board of Trustees Convenes, Meets with School Faculty, Staff, and Students

A new Board of Trustees  serving the Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM) held its first inaugural meeting on 18th February 2016, passing a new milestone in the institution’s development. Composed of a cross-section of industry, government, and academic leaders, the new Board is headed by Dr. Mubarak Hamad Al Ameri with Mr. Ahmed Shabib Al Dhaheri serving as Vice Chairman. The Board also consists of notable leaders as Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassem, Dr. Tayib Al Kamali; Dr. Yahia Al Marzouqi; and Mrs. Alia Al Mazrouei. The final member of this distinguished assembly is Professor Abdullah Abonamah, who sits on the Board as an ex officio member as part of his role as the President of ADSM.

The meeting began with welcoming remarks by Dr. Mubarak Al Ameri, who thanked the new Board members for accepting the invitation to contribute to the continued success of the institution. Dr. Mubarak praised the progress of ADSM for its achievements in the areas of academics and research as it has offered an exceptional MBA degree within an entrepreneurial ecosystem. In turn, Dr. Abdullah Abonamah gave a presentation on ADSM and UAE Academy activities and achievements which lead to a fruitful discussion about current and future projects. Several board members offered innovative ideas and suggestions to introduce new opportunities to ADSM and its affiliated programs run through its sister organization, the UAE Academy.

At this same meeting, the Board also had an opportunity to meet with senior members of ADSM and UAE Academy, as well as employees and faculty members. In addition, the Board also met with several graduate students currently enrolled in ADSM and had an engaging discussion about the learning environment and their experience at ADSM.

The meeting concluded with the chairman, Dr. Mubarak Al Ameri expressing his high level of admiration for the staff and students and his confidence in the institution’s ability to fulfill its vision to become the leading internationally benchmarked institute of higher learning in the UAE and Gulf region.
