ABOUT ADSM GRADUATION

Graduation is the ceremony students attend to have their degrees conferred by the authority vested in the President of the Abu Dhabi School of Management. It is a time for fellow students, instructors, staff, family and friends to celebrate and recognize student success.

REGISTRATION:

Students need to register to attend the Commencement Ceremony. The registration form is available on the ADSM website. Students are also required to complete the Graduate Experience survey as part of the registration process. Once registered, Student Affairs will communicate with students via the email address provided.

ELIGIBIILTY:

In order to attend the Ceremony, students must have a CGPA of 3.0 and have no more than 2 courses to complete. In addition, students must not have any outstanding fees payable to ADSM.

GOWNS and CAPS: 

Students will order their gown and cap when they apply to register to attend the event. A deposit of AED200 is required. Gowns can be collected at specified times – this information will be emailed to students closer to the event.

ON THE DAY

ARRIVAL:

Students are required to arrive at the National Archives building located here no later than 4.00 pm. The main entrance is situated at the front of the building and students are required to take the escalators to the top floor where space will be provided for preparing for the event.

REHEARSAL:

A rehearsal session will be scheduled at 4.30 pm. Students will be taken through a brief mock ceremony in order for the event to run smoothly. Following rehearsals, students will return to the top floor where they can relax and enjoy some light refreshments.

GUESTS:

Guests will be given access to the hall from 6.00 pm. If guests arrive prior to the allocated time, they are invited to visit the exhibition hall where UAE and GCC archives (documents, images and historical manuscripts) can be viewed. Guests will find the Exhibition Center on the ground floor.

PHOTOGRAPHY/DVD:

Throughout the ceremony, a professional photographer and videographer will be in attendance to capture this special event. Group photographs of each cohort of students will be taken at the end of the ceremony.

END OF CEREMONY:

Students and their guests are invited to the foyer to join the President, Academic Dean, faculty and staff to celebrate new beginnings and to enjoy some beverages and snacks.

CERTIFICATES:

Official certificates will be available for collection at the allocated area on the first floor. Certificates not collected on the day will be available for collection at a later date from Student Affairs.

GOWNS:

Gowns and caps can be returned to the venue once the ceremony is over. Alternately, students will have one (1) month from the date of the ceremony to return items to Student Affairs. Any refunds payable will be coordinated through the Finance department.
