The Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs at ADSM aims to create a student-centric supporting environment throughout the students’ life cycle, from enrolment to graduation. The Office strives to support the Academic Dean in maintaining academic standards and quality. It also acts as a liaison between the School, its current students, alumni, and the community. This helps to ensure a seamless thread that provides a positive, enriched student experience, achieving academic excellence, and developing brand awareness in the community.

Orientation Program

The Office of Student Affairs arranges an Orientation Session at the commencement of all new cohort intakes. Topics covered are relevant to new students to assist them in settling into graduate studies. For example, what is to be expected in terms of course content, workload and assessments. The Orientation includes a session on Case Study Analysis to help give the students an insight into the type of work they will be expected to do at graduate level. Orientation also includes a session on the e-library, the physical library, and IT resources, along with information regarding ADSM policies and procedures. In addition, the orientation provides an opportunity for new students to meet academic and professional staff, and to meet fellow classmates and future colleagues.

The Orientation session is usually scheduled prior to the date of commencing classes, and the date will be published on the Academic Calendar.

Information on ADSM’s campus and facilities are available at the Campus Facilities page.

As a result, each student is assigned a dedicated Academic Advisor to provide guidance in regards to rules governing courses and course substitutions, programs, credits, CGPA requirements, and the student’s academic status in general.

Academic Supervision

Throughout their journey at ADSM, the Office of Student Affairs systematically monitors students’ performance to provide them with the necessary support to maintain good academic standing and complete their program of study successfully. The Office also arranges academic support sessions, in collaboration with the Academic Support Center, aiming to support the academic development and the achievement of each student’s educational goals. The sessions include topics such as academic writing, referencing skills, research skills, and case study analysis. The Academic Learning Coaches are available for individual meetings with students.
